Du bist verpflichtet Änderungen am Programm zu kennzeichnen und öffentlich kostenlos zugänglich zu machen (und sei es nur auf Anfrage).
Die GPL besagt ja, dass der Sourcecode offen und kostenlos ist und dass Änderungen am Code gemacht werden dürfen. Diese Änderungen sind dann wiederum offen und kostenlos.
Interessant ist wohl folgender Abschnitt:
If identifiable sections of that work are not derived from the Program, and can be reasonably
considered independent and separate works in themselves, then this License, and
its terms, do not apply to those sections when you distribute them as separate
works. But when you distribute the same sections as part of a whole which is a
work based on the Program, the distribution of the whole must be on the terms of
this License, whose permissions for other licensees extend to the entire whole,
and thus to each and every part regardless of who wrote it.
Die Frage ist hier, was Addons und Module sind? Eigenständig oder nicht?
Für die Eigenständigkeit spricht, dass Redaxo auch ohne sie läuft, dagegen spricht eindeutig, dass sie ohne Redaxo keinen oder wenig Nutzen haben.
Weiterhin muss man sich fragen, wie man bei den Addons und Modulen zwischen "
sections when you distribute them as separate
works" und "
sections as part of a whole which is a
work based on the Program" unterscheidet. Es sind ja irgendwo schon Programmteile. Aber wie will man sie getrennt voneinander behandeln, also einmal als einzeln vertriebene Programm(teil)e und einmal mit Redaxo verkaufte?
Beispiel: Nehmen wir an du verkaufst ein Addon oder Modul. Es ist also in diesem Sinne eigentständig.
Ein Entwickler, der dieses Programmteil kauft, installiert dieses zusammen mit Redaxo bei einem Kunden für dessen Webseite. Diese Dateien stehen nun aber unter der GPL und müssen somit auf Anfrage frei und kostenlos zugänglich gemacht werden.
Bedeutet das jetzt, dass der vorherige Verkauf des Programmteils schon illegal war?
Edit: Da könnte der Webdesigner der Gelackmeierte sein, denn Punkt 7 der GPL besagt:
If you cannot distribute so as to satisfy simultaneously your obligations under this
License and any other pertinent obligations, then as a consequence you may not
distribute the Program at all. For example, if a patent license would not permit
royalty-free redistribution of the Program by all those who receive copies
directly or indirectly through you, then the only way you could satisfy both it
and this License would be to refrain entirely from distribution of the Program.

In diesem Zusammenhang stellt sich mir z. B. die Frage, ob das System von
Reximmo so wie es ist, den Lizenzbestimmungen der GPL entspricht. Wenn es hart auf hart kommt und vor Gericht geht, tendiere ich eher
gegen einen positiven Ausgang für den Entwickler dieses Addons.
Dazu kann aber nur ein Anwalt eine sichere und vor allem rechtlich einwandfreie Antwort geben.
